We are a fellowship of believers who come from all walks of life. We have different backgrounds, are of different races, and even come from different countries. We have different hobbies, jobs, likes and dislikes. We live across a five county area. We go to different schools, vary greatly in professions, and have many varied interests and talents.

So what brings us all together and why? Good question!

The answer is; we all have one common focus: We all believe in and love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Lone Oak About Our Church

We seek to worship and study God’s word, the Bible, together as a fellowship of believers in Christ because that is what Jesus has commanded us to do. We seek to tell others about Christ through missions to our community, the region, state, country and the world. We do so because Jesus told us to go and tell in Matthew 28:18-20. We seek to disciple other believers so they might join us in the joy of sharing the perfect love of our Savior. We work to serve Him and those He loves through the myriad of talents and abilities that have been brought together. We will not stop our efforts until all the world has had a chance to hear the Gospel or until Jesus calls us home to heaven.

Lone Oak Greeting

Because Jesus first loved us, we gather together as a family to worship the Great Physician. We will meet in a large sanctuary to praise Him and hear His word proclaimed. And we also meet in small groups to study the Bible, pray and support each other through the trials of life.

You see; We are the church. The biblical Bride of Jesus Christ!

How to Join Our Church

You certainly do not need to be a member of our church to worship and fellowship with us!

We welcome and invite everyone. If you are seeking a church home, you may want to make multiple visits and check out various classes and activities before making a decision on what plans God has for your family.

If you desire to join with us and support the beliefs, fellowship, and mission of our church, we warmly invite you to become a member.

After the sermon of any worship service, a time of invitation is offered. One of our Ministers will invite those who desire to become members to come to the front of the Sanctuary. Membership may be granted in one of three methods:

When that time comes, there are three methods to request membership:

  1. By Profession of Faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior and to follow Him in Baptism.
  2. By transfer of a membership in another Southern Baptist Church.
  3. By a Statement of Faith that you have previously made a public profession of faith.

Profession of Faith:

A public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and acceptance of Him as your personal Savior. Upon which, we welcome you not only as a brother or sister in Christ, but also as a member of our church family. Baptism will follow your decision at the next scheduled Baptismal Service.

Transfer of Membership:

If you are currently a member of another Southern Baptist Church, we will receive you as a member upon promise of a letter from that church. Our staff will contact that church to notify them of your decision and request your letter. A “letter” is a written (or electronic) communication verifying your membership at your previous church and moving your membership to Lone Oak FBC.

Statement of Faith:

If you have previously made a public profession of faith, acknowledging that you have received Christ as your Savior and Lord, we will acknowledge that decision and welcome you to our family. If you have not participated in believer’s baptism (baptism by immersion as a believer, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as a symbol of your salvation), we will work with you to schedule a baptism.
