Lone Oak First Baptist Church administers numerous college scholarships available to graduating Seniors. Descriptions and requirements are listed below. An application must be completed and submitted to the church office by April 30th for high school graduation or June 15th for continuing college applications. HARRY ROSS SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship is awarded once a year to Lone Oak First Baptist Church student, preferably going into the ministry. Staff chooses this student. Award dependent on earnings of the scholarship fund.
RALPH AND RUTH BAKER SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship is awarded to a student preferably from Lone Oak First Baptist Church who will be going into the field of religious music. Minister of Music and Pastor choose this student. Award dependent on earnings of the scholarship fund.
ED AND RUTH SHEPARD SCHOLARSHIP
Available money to be awarded to a young person at the direction of Lone Oak FBC and dependent upon the earnings of the scholarship fund.
ORVILLE AMYETTE SCHOLARSHIP
Available money for church members attending church oriented college or university. Award dependent on earnings of the scholarship fund.
RUTH SHEPARD SCHOLARSHIP
Available money to be used to award $100 matching scholarship to student attending Southern Baptist College.
GARVICE DOUGLAS SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship is awarded at such time as the reinvested earnings are at least $250. Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior and active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, pursuing a music degree, and enrolled in a credited Baptist college or university.
CARL and MARY L. OSBORNE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
A $1000.00 scholarship available to an active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church who had attended a Lone Oak School, ranked in upper 25% of their graduating class, and enrolled in an accredited college or university for the start of next school year.
HARRY GOODE SCHOLARSHIP
Available money used for seminary students. Annual investment earnings are divided equally among all who apply.
